HOBOKEN — You already knew it, but now everyone else will be reminded.
According to Movoto, a blog about “the lighter side of real estate,” Hoboken ranks number one on a list of ten “most exciting small cities.”
Also on the list are La Cross, WI, and Chapel Hill, NC.
Somehow, New Brunswick, NJ is also on there. It’s a college town, sure, but how can it compare to Hoboken?
The blogger wrote, “This hip, young Garden State town taking top honors actually didn’t surprise us that much, especially not resident New Jerseyite and Movoto marketing director Chris Kolmar, who personally attested to its worthiness once the results were finalized. He should know, having personally penned multiple posts about his home state for the Movoto Blog. When we said Hoboken was young, we meant it. A full 46 percent of the place’s population is between 20 and 43 years of age–the largest such group in our top 10 by 3 percent margin over second-youngest San Marcos, TX. ”
The story also notes that Hoboken has a lot of restaurants and very few are in a chain.
He forgot to mention the most exciting small newspaper group — which, of course, is the Hudson Reporter, based in Hoboken (hudsonreporter.com.)
