Division of Recreation announces co-ed youth floor hockey registration

Mayor Mark A. Smith has announced that the Recreation Division has begun registration for the Co-Ed Indoor Floor Hockey League. The league is open to Bayonne Residents, boys and girls, ages 8 to 13. You must be a Bayonne resident to participate and you must turn eight years old before March 15, 2014, and you must not turn 14 before March 15, 2014. The nonrefundable fee of $5 will go toward the costs of running the program. The fee includes a game shirt. All individuals who sign up will be placed on a team by the Division of Recreation. Individual applications are available in the Recreation Office. Registration will be held each weekday at the City Hall Parks Office from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Recreation Division will supply equipment such as goalie equipment, hockey sticks specially designed for indoor use, hockey balls and hockey goals. Games will be played Mondays and/or Tuesday nights, at 6, 7, or 8 p.m. at the Robinson School. The deadline for all applications and payment is Friday, December 20, 2013. All applications and payment must be returned to Room #13 in City Hall. The season is tentatively set to begin on Monday, January 6, 2014. For further information call Pete Amadeo at (201) 858-6129.
