A funeral mass was performed Dec. 12 at St. Nicholas RC Church for Mary T. Fallon, 104, of Jersey City. She passed away Dec. 8 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in County Mayo, Ireland and came to the United States at age 17. Mary was a faithful parishioner at St. Nicholas Parish in Jersey City for over 60 years, a daily communicant and a member of the Rosary Society and Legion of Mary. She worked for many years as a teacher’s aide at A. Harry Moore School in Jersey City before her retirement at age 75.
Mary was the Jersey City Irish Woman honoree of the year in 2003 and participated in the St. Patrick’s Day parade. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Vincent and son, Vincent. She was the mother of Mary Mahones and husband Gil, James and wife Peggy, and William; grandmother of Danielle, Sean, Vincent and his wife Sheryl; great grandmother of Chloe, Kevin, Ryan, Molly, and Rajon. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Services arranged by the Fallon Funeral Home, Jersey City.
