Johnson leads Chargers to win

Entering week six of the JCC of Bayonne’s Indoor Flag Football Sr. Division, the (2-5) Chargers and the (2-4) Eagles both have their sights set on tuning up for the playoffs just 4 games away. The Chargers set the tone early as they built a 28-0 lead with TD’s by Alejandro “See Ya” Cifuentes (2) and Ahmad McGill (2) while Cifuentes and Ryan Giocoli also tacked on 2 point conversions. Stunned by their sluggish start, the Eagles regrouped as QB Janaaron Aquino rifled TD passes to Chris Ballance and Anthony Minotto while Jaime Betancur rushed for a TD and two 2 point conversions to make it a 28-22 bout. The Eagles seemed on the verge of tying the game up when rookie sensation Ahmad McGill intercepted an endzone bound pass to rescue his Chargers’ defense. The Eagles stayed in the hunt for the rest of the fray with Ryan Ballance and Jan Patrick Egan powering running attack but in the end the Chargers’ James Johnson would have the final word as Johnson’s 20 yard TD catch and late game interception iced the Chargers’ 34-22 victory.
