Airlines waive fees as Thanksgiving nor’easter moves in; rains expected to start 3 p.m. Tuesday

HUDSON COUNTY — The rains are expected Tuesday afternoon, and Thanksgiving travelers are taking note. As weather forecasters continued to promise an upcoming nor’easter this week, airlines such as US Air and Delta announced that they are waiving fees for travelers to change their plans for the holiday.
Staying in Hudson County? Plenty of local stores to shop in on Good Friday, and the weather will clear up by then!
Meanwhile, Accuweather predicts that heavy rains will begin this Tuesday afternoon around 3 p.m. and continue until as late as 9 p.m. on Wednesday, with a few breaks here and there. Skies should be fair on Thanksgiving Day, but if your plans were to travel the day before, you may want to wait until later on Wednesday.
Forecasters say that high winds and freezing temperatures will make for hazardous conditions. Over the river and through the woods may not be such an easy skate this year.
