BAYONNE — A Bayonne man was found shot on Tuesday behind Ahern Veterans Memorial Stadium at about 8 a.m. by an employee of the Bayonne Department of Public Works, said Public Safety Director Jason O’Donnell.
A 22-year old Egyptian immigrant, who is believed to have allegedly shot himself, was still critical condition as of Wednesday, O’Donnell said, and is currently at Jersey City Medical Center.
O’Donnell said the weapon was discovered at the site of the shooting.
The stadium is situated near Bayonne High School. – By Al Sullivan
