There were princesses and parrots, ninjas and nurses, as hundreds of local residents turned out for the Historic Paulus Hook Association’s annual Children’s Costume Parade/Pet Parade on Sunday Oct. 27.
The three-hour event featured performances by the Jersey City Children’s Theater and several awards for the best costumes for children and pets, who competed in separate categories. The pre-Halloween celebration allowed kids the opportunity to test out their costumes on the “runway” before hitting the streets with them for trick-or-treating.
