Dear Editor:
Seldom does a candidate for Sheriff – especially an unknown – create excitement, and never does such a candidate create statewide excitement. Anthony Di Iorio is the exception. His modern understanding of the Constitution and what it means to the office of Sheriff has made him one of the most requested speakers statewide.
Historically, citizens of New Jersey pay little attention to candidates running for Sheriff, in fact, few probably can name the person now holding that office in their own county. There may be a good reason for that. Here in the Garden State, at one time all officers of the law highly regarded our constitutional rights and the state and federal laws that protected our individual rights. Things are different today. Today with the scandals in the news, such as the NSA debacle, citizens of this great State can no longer trust that their rights to privacy under the Fourth Amendment will be protected. They further understand that other constitutional rights are also realistically in jeopardy. While police departments are responsible for maintaininglocal law and order, Sheriffs hold constitutional offices that are not subject to the whims of party hacks. Anthony understands that and will pledge his allegiance only to the Constitution and the good people of Hudson County.
Douglas Salters, one of Anthony’s many consultants, said: “It is common today to question whether or not the Constitution is relevant in the 21st century. However, Di Iorio understands that there is nothing irrelevant about protecting our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. He has seen the corruption that permeates Hudson County and is grieved by how it affects Hudson County, which is why he has thrown his hat into the ring and which is why I wholeheartedly support him.”
As Sheriff, Anthony has pledged to protect your constitutional rights and will not submit to the corrupt politics of the day.He will put your rights first. He is a candidate of the people and not a career politician, which makes him the right man for the job.
Vote for Anthony Di Iorio for Hudson County Sheriff (5C) on November 5th, and start restoring sanity to Hudson County. To find out more, visit Anthony’s website at: www.diiorioforsheriff.com.
