KARATE LEAGUE COMPETES

— On September 21 the American Okinawan Karate Association presented the Aokainc Grand Master Don Nalge World Open Karate Championship, featuring students from the Bayonne Martial Arts Center. Competing in the Mighty Mites Novice White Belt Division (6 & Under) Brandon Stokes Placed 4th In Kata. Competing in the Mighty Mites Novice Yellow Belt Division (6 and under) Frankie Bozzone Placed 4th in Kata. Competing in the Wee Pees Yellow Belt Division (7and 8) Meghan Ryan Placed 4th In Kumite. Samantha Boehm Placed 2nd in Kumite. Competing in the Pee Wee White Belt Division (9 and10) Josias Coto placed 3rd in Kata & 2nd in Kumite. Competing in the Pee Wee Yellow Belt Divison (9 and 10) Eric Ramirez placed 4th in Kata and 1st in Kumite. Competing in the Adult Novice Yellow Belt Division Marc Surujballi placed 4th in Kata and 2nd in Kumite. Competing in the Adult Intermediate Brown Belt Division Ryan Colon placed 1st in Kata & 2nd in Kumite. also featuring students from the Bayonne High School Karate League. Competing in the Super Juniors Yellow Belt Division (16 and17) Manolo Alvarez placed 2nd in Kata & 2nd in Kumite. Competing in the Super Juniors Orange Belt Division (16 and17) Tristan Cotto placed 1st in Kata & 1st Kumite. Competing in the Super Junior Blue Belt Division (16 and17) Rachel Kinigstein Placed 3rd in Kata. The students are trained by Masters Tom Clarkin, 7th Dan; Will Toolen, 6th Dan; and Keith Marsh 5th Dan. The Center classes are held at 625 Avenue C.
