Weehawken and Union City steps should follow example of Jersey City Heights

Dear Editor:
Hi, I’m just writing this letter to say, we in the Weehawken and Union City Heights section would also like the one hundred steps to be rebuilt like they are doing in the Jersey City Heights section by the 2nd St. light rail. They are located next to Troy Towers.
The reason being, that the bus dose not run on the weekend, and with all the development going on in the Shades section and on the waterfront, it would be much easier than using the Shippen St. steps, where you have to walk across the road by the Lincoln Tunnel to get to the light rail on the weekends! Not the safest route to take. Those steps by the Troy Towers have a long history of people using them to go to work back then on the railroads and piers! I think it would be a county job for sure to rebuild them. What’s fair is fair! We could use new steps also. It was at one time a vital link in the Heights section of Weehawken and Union City.
