HOBOKEN – Fourth Ward Councilman Tim Occhipinti, who is challenging Mayor Dawn Zimmer and Assemblyman Ruben Ramos in the upcoming November mayoral election, announced on Thursday that he will host a voter registration party and charity event at the downtown Hotel Victor, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday.
According to a press release, the event is meant to engage younger Hoboken residents in the political process and to allow those who haven’t registered or changed their registered address to do so. Additionally, Occhipinti announced that 5 percent of all the money spent at Hotel Victor will be donated to the victims of the Seaside Heights fire that broke out Thursday night.
Local band Gravy Train is set to perform as well. There is no cover charge for the event. Hotel Victor is located at 77 Hudson St.
Occhipinti is running at the head of the “One Hoboken” slate, which also includes council-at-large candidates Frank Raia, Peter Biancamano, and Britney Montgomery Cook.
