Aladdin, Jr. presented on Aug. 2, 3, and 4
Bayonne High School Drama Society Junior will put on Disney’s Aladdin Jr., a stage adaptation of the Disney hit film, filled with magic, mayhem, and flying carpet rides. The Academy-Award-winning score features songs that include “A Whole New World” and “Friend Like Me.”
Aladdin, Jr. features the talents of Bayonne students from all the district’s grammar schools. Stunning sets and colorful costumes set the stage for the story of Aladdin, a boy from the marketplace who falls in love with the beautiful Princess Jasmine, enlisting help from the magical Genie to win her hand and stop the evil Jafar from taking over the kingdom of Agrabah.
Disney’s Aladdin Jr. will be presented to audiences on August 2 at 7 p.m., August 3 at 2 p.m., and 7 p.m., and August 4 at 2p.m. Tickets are $10 for students and seniors and $12 for adults. The show runs approximately 90 minutes, with an intermission.
Wells Fargo donates $10,000 to Integrity House
Integrity House, a nationally recognized substance-abuse rehabilitation center with locations in Newark and Secaucus, received a donation of $10,000 from Wells Fargo on July 24. The donation will be used to help fund the Women’s Supportive Housing Program, part of Integrity House’s recovery-support program.
“The generosity of Wells Fargo will help us continue our superior service of treatment for women, and help us to raise awareness about the disease of addiction,” said Robert J. Budsock, CEO of Integrity House. “We are truly blessed to have the support of a great company like Wells Fargo as well as several other high-profile businesses. The effect this donation will have on residents in the program and their families will create results and opportunities they need for long-term success with recovery.”
The Women’s Supportive Housing Program provides essential resources that an individual may not have while working to overcome addiction. Hudson County Correctional Facility has a contract with Integrity House to help its women inmates. The program helps provide women with resources to help them learn how to maintain long-term sobriety, how to create financial independence, and how to manage eventual family reunification, all while living in a safe, affordable, and supportive environment. Tenants may remain in the facility for 12-24 months and have access to case-management assistance to help find housing opportunities beyond Integrity House. Wells Fargo’s donation to this facility and program will contribute to the positive progression in residents’ lives.
International-Matex tank terminals to hold biodiesel fuel
Iowa-based biodiesel fuel producer and marketer Renewable Energy Group Inc. (REG) announced recently that it will offer biodiesel fuel at the International-Matex tank terminals (IMTT) in Bayonne.
The agreement provides REG with access to New York Harbor, which, according to the announcement, is one of the world’s largest petroleum trading hubs. It allows REG to sell large volumes of biodiesel fuel via barge or truck.
IMTT is a full-service complex located at the junction of the Kill van Kull and Upper New York Harbor, 10 miles south of Manhattan.
Mack to fill in for Fussa
Suzanne Mack, who has worked in several capacities for the Bayonne Local Redevelopment Authority, will likely move over to the City Planning Department to help replace City Planner John Fussa. Mack said she isn’t being named city planner, but will take on some of those duties.
