A funeral mass was celebrated July 20 at St. Anne’s R.C. Church in Jersey City for Francesca Porta, 92, recently of Richboro, Pa., formerly Jersey City. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her son’s residence. Born in Molfetta, Italy to the late Saverio and Lucia Rosa, Francesca emigrated to the United States in 1954, settling in Buffalo, N.Y. and later migrated to Hoboken. She was a seamstress for many years working for various coat manufacturers in Hoboken. She was predeceased by her husband Vincenzo Porta in 2005, and two sisters, Maria Mezzina and Pasqua Mastropierro. Francesca will be missed by her sons, Larry Porta and his wife Mina, and Saverio Porta. A great joy in Francesca’s life were her grandchildren, Francesca, Vincenzo, Anthony, Vincenzo, and her great granddaughter Olivia.Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
