Lady Hawks 2013 softball champs

To the Editor:

This is a public and well deserved thank you to a great group of girls—the Henry Harris Lady Hawks softball team. They are: Nicolette Troglio, Kara Neal, Bridget Sweeney, Kayla Alvarez, Alyssa Sanchez, Marissa Broderick, Jenna Sweeney, Ralphael Tencza, Aiyanna Figueroa-Taylor, Adrianna Morrone, Christina Pallitto, Kara Jozwiak, Paulina Aldano, Dayshalee Ayala.
Winning the championship this season was a result of their dedication to our school’s motto of Pride, Tradition and Spirit. They possess every ounce of that motto on and off the field. Coaching and watching them play together is truly amazing. They are kind, helpful, respectful, and always positive. Their energy at each and every game is electric. This thank you is a testament to their true friendship and loyalty as teammates. It is a privilege to be their coach.
Many thanks to:
The parents for attending every game in support of their daughters and making sure that everyone has a ride to and home from the game; Harris Principal Mr. Tom Fogu for his continued support every year; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cotter, Harris PTA for always making sure our girls have everything they need and more; Harris faculty and student body for always being there to cheer the girls on; Mr. Pete Amadeo, Supervisor of the Bayonne Department of Parks/Recreation for his patience with scheduling and his constant availability. And last but not least a huge thank you and sincere appreciation to Mr. Anthony Morrone and his son Anthony (Harris eighth grader) for coaching with me and helping at every practice and game. Coaching is not a solo job, and the season and final victory could not have been possible without their help.
It was a great season especially for the eighth graders, many of whom have been a Lady Hawk since the sixth grade. They will be missed forever by a Lady Hawk!
