To the Editor:
I attended the commencement ceremony for Bayonne High School on June 19 and was greatly impressed with the organization of this event. Congratulations administration and all involved on a job well done.
More important, I would like to congratulate all the graduates on their academic achievements. As a high-school chemistry teacher in another school district, I was in awe as Superintendent McGeehan asked for the audience to listen carefully while she read off a list of prestigious Ivy League Schools that these seniors will be attending come this new academic year: Princeton, Harvard, and the University of Pennsylvania—just to name a few. Wow! Amazing!Yet I ask, why do the teachers in the Bayonne School district still have no contract?
