To the Editor:
For the past few weeks, we have seen signs throughout the city in support of raises for the teachers of Bayonne. You should stop and think about who knows your child as well as you—teachers. Who also helped your child with the ABC’s, numbers, and colors? Teachers. While you are preparing your children for college and their future, who also helps prepare them for their journey? Teachers.
Recently, we witnessed the tragedies at Sandy Hook Elementary and Oklahoma City where many children lost their lives. The teachers who helped protect them or gave their lives protecting them never dreamed that this would be part of their job.
We need to think about our teachers and the important role they play in our children’s lives. Please support our teachers.
