— 90, of Bayonne, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Care One in Wall Township, New Jersey, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Bayonne on March 16, 1923, and was a lifelong resident. He attended the Notre Dame de Gravishon School in France and the Valley Forge Military Academy and earned a commission in the U.S. Army. He was a mechanical supervisor at Exxon Corp. in Bayonne for over 31 years, retiring in 1985. He was the past Exhulted Ruler of the Elks in Bayonne for two terms and a member of the Bayonne Fly Fisherman Club for 50 years. Beloved husband of the late Helen M. (nee Deptula). Loving father of Shawn Somers and his wife Connie of Manalapan, NJ, Kandace Cumella and her late husband Vincent of Creskill, NJ and the late Kenneth Somers Jr. and his living wife Donna of Califon, NJ. Cherished grandfather of Alyssa and her husband Alex Farlow, Shawn, Julie and her husband Charles Hoffman, Kenneth and Justin. Great-Grandfather of Alera Hoffman and Aria Hoffman. Dear Brother of the late Bertha Hanlon. Viewing and funeral were at the G. KEENEN O’BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, Bayonne, officiated by Rev. Msgr. Paul D. Schetelick, pastor of St. Andrew’s R.C.
