Dear Editor:
This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of participating in “Project Pride” with the Girl Scouts. Project Pride is a program to enhance the appearance of the town through plantings and general clean-up. Each year in May, the Girl Scouts make their own contribution to the beauty of our Town’s central business district by planting flowers in the large containers along Paterson Plank Road and the town center. This year, the Scouts chose to plant pink and red flowering begonias. These hardy plants will grow and multiply all spring and summer and will eventually fill in the planters with their lovely blooms.
I would like to thank the Girl Scouts and their leaders for helping to make this day so successful. I also want to acknowledge Frank Sasso of our DPW for his expertise in selecting this colorful flowering plant, as well as Michael Bronowich and Erik Doering for their assistance with the planting. The perfect weather that day was an added bonus!
Let’s keep up the good work for keeping “Pride” in our town.
