Holy underwear, Batman! Heroin found in secret compartment in Hoboken man’s underpants

HOBOKEN — Hoboken police found 300 bags of heroin in an apartment in the Hoboken Housing Authority projects over the weekend, police confirmed. Some of the bags were found in a secret compartment in the tenant’s underwear.
This is the second major drug bust in recent history in the projects, although they have a long history as a site of local drug arrests (see links to related stories below).
Police confirmed that a Jackson Street man, 25, was arrested in his apartment over the weekend after the bags were found. Police also found 64 hollow point bullets, but no guns. Police also found $212 in cash and eight cell phones.
The Police Department cooperated with HHA Director Carmelo Garcia on the raid.
The arrested man is currently unemployed, and was charged with possession with intent to use heroin and possession of marijuana.
