NORTH BERGEN – Some of North Bergen High School’s best and brightest will learn about local government first hand tomorrow, May 1, at the township’s Student Law Day. The annual educational event features NBHS students taking the place of municipal officials such as Mayor Nicholas Sacco, the Board of Commissioners, Police Chief Robert Dowd, Township Administrator Chris Pianese, and many others for the day and learning about their jobs and the functions of North Bergen government.
Law Day begins at 10 a.m. with all participants gathering in the Commission chambers in town hall, followed by a mock trial at the new Municipal Court Building at 11 a.m., then lunch in the Commission chambers at 12 p.m. and finally a mock Commission meeting at 1 p.m.
