A funeral mass was offered April 15 at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, Jersey City, for Patrick McMahon, 72, lifelong resident of Jersey City. He passed away April 11 from complications of lung cancer. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sylvia Slusser McMahon; his children Martin and daughter in law Marie, Patrick and daughter in law Carmela, Donna McMahon Panis and son in law Marc, Dan McMahon, Tammy McMahon LaVilla and son in law Richard, Robert and daughter in law Maria. He was predeceased by his grandson Richard LaVilla, Jr. His surviving grandchildren are Martin McMahon, Jr., Matthew McMahon, Amie McMahon, Sarah Panis, Hayley Panis, Nora LaVilla and Frances LaVilla; his sisters, Margaret and her husband Edwin Eastman, Catherine Rucci, Susan Donald; his brother Thomas McMahon; and many nieces and nephews. Patrick worked as the Superintendent of Traffic for the City of Jersey City for many years prior to being transferred and completing his career with Radio Repair of the City of Jersey City Police Department.
