Third Annual Resident Art Show
Mayor Michael Gonnelli and the Town Council cordially invite you to attend the Third Annual Resident Art Show and Reception on Wednesday, April 17 at 7 p.m. in Town Hall located at 1203 Paterson Plank Road in Secaucus. Refreshments will be served.
NJMC event
“Pythagoras, Kepler, Math and Music” will be held in the Meadowlands on Saturday, April 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. for families. Guests can bring their instruments and voices as Diane Moser conducts a workshop in which participants convert measurements to musical intervals to create and upload sounds on the computer using Sound Cloud. The group will arrange the recorded sounds into an original composition.
Admission is $5 and $4 for MEC members. It will be held at Meadowlands Environment Center, Two DeKorte Park Plaza in Lyndhurst.

UNICO Tricky Tray
The UNICO Tricky Tray will be on Sunday, April 21 from noon to 4 p.m. at LaReggia located at 40 Wood Ave. in Secaucus. Admission is $35 which includes a hot and cold buffet, mimosa fountain, and one sheet of tickets. There will be over 200 prizes to win. All funds raised will go towards the UNICO Scholarships and those in need.

DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst open on weekends again, following hurricane repairs
The New Jersey Meadowlands Commission is pleased to announce that starting this weekend, DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst will again be open to the public on weekends from 8 a.m. to dusk. The Transco Trail in DeKorte Park will reopen as well, from the NJMC administration building all the way toward the western spur of N.J. Turnpike. The Meadowlands Environment Center, along with its gift shop and restrooms, will also reopen this Sunday.
The commission appreciates patience that guests have shown while hurricane-related repairs are being made to other parts of the park and its trail system.
Hudson County Chamber of Commerce holding healthcare roundtable
The Hudson County Chamber of Commerce announced this week that it will host a roundtable discussion for business owners and leaders interested in learning more about new initiatives designed to rein in the rising cost of healthcare premiums for employers. The event will be held on Wed. April 17 at 8:30 a.m. at the Jersey City Museum, located at 350 Montgomery St.
The goal of the roundtable is to provide businesses an opportunity to learn more about what is driving rising healthcare costs for employers and how local healthcare facilities are working to bring down those costs. The session will be moderated by Nicholas A. Chiaravalloti, Executive Director, Guarini Institute for Government and Leadership.
The panel will feature Joseph Scott, President and CEO, LibertyHealth; Susan Walsh, M.D., Medical Director, Accountable Care Organization, Jersey City Medical Center; Ward Sanders, President, New Jersey Association of Health Plans and Assemblyman Gary Schaer, Deputy Speaker.
“The rising cost of healthcare is of urgent concern for our members,” said Maria Nieves, the Chamber’s President and CEO. “We hope to launch a series of conversations with this event that focuses on how our members and employers generally can begin to control these costs while also continuing to provide quality benefits to their employees.”
