Dear Editor:
With only two months to Election Day, the municipal race is heating up. Every day, I have the opportunity to talk to many residents in Ward F about the ongoing issues affecting their quality of life. All I can say is that it’s no joke. People are struggling on the streets and need a helping hand.
For the past couple of years, we’ve seen politicians get into office and not keep their campaign promises. How can they play with people’s lives over a vote? It’s a disgrace to the democratic process. We must come together and stand strong. The same politicians have been in office for years, yet how has our community benefitted? It’s time to put fresh new faces in office so we can move our city forward. I would like to thank Councilwoman-at-Large Viola Richardson for all of her years in public service, but it’s time to see a fresh new face in office.
One person who I really admire is Ray Regalado. He has been a police officer for nearly 20 years. He isn’t just any ordinary cop. He actually is involved with the community and always addresses their concerns. He also was the school resource officer at P.S. 23 in which he mentored hundreds of children playing an important role in their lives. He served as a father figure for many. He always thought about how he could make the lives of others better. He is all about putting People before Politics.
I’m urging you to vote for Ray Regalado-5B on May 14. He can tackle the issues terrorizing our neighborhoods. We must come together and unite for the common good. If you believe our city is doing fantastic, then vote for the same, but if you finally are ready for a change then join the movement.
Ray Regalado is the best choice for the Council at Large seat!
