Recreation Division hosts Sports Squirts

Mayor Mark A. Smith has announced that the Recreation Division will team up with the U.S. Sports Institute for the Sports Squirts Program, open for children ages three to five. USSI’s Total Sports Squirts program allows children to experience a new sport in each session, including lacrosse, soccer, basketball, T-ball, floor hockey, parachute games and more in a safe, structured environment.
The Total Sports Squirts program is ideal for children who want to try everything. The emphasis is on safety, fun and learning. All sports are presented in a positive and relaxed environment with an emphasis on participation, interaction and communication.
The program will run for six weeks on Tuesdays from April 16 through May 21 at the First Street courts on First Street and Zabriskie Avenue. Lessons run from 5 to 6 p.m. The cost of the program is $90 per child.
Registration has begun. Register online at www.ussportsinstitute.com or at the Division of Recreation in City Hall, Room No. 13.
