Politics on the boards

Dear Editor:
Talk about diversity in Union City. Our current mayor recently filled a vacancy on our communities Board of Commissioners by selecting still another employee of our local Board of Education.
That makes a majority of the Union City Commissioners employed by our local school system.
Is there any wonder why virtually every resolution that these individuals vote on is usually approved unanimously.
It reminds me of one days of the old Soviet Politburo.
To be fair our new commissioner is somewhat creative.
I’m sure some of the women in Union City recognize him as the gentleman who once sold women’s clothing from the trunk of his car in order to be able to pay his extremely high property tax bill.
I sincerely wish him the best and lets hope that those of us who follow the Union City commission meetings on the internet will be able to hear his speaking voice along with the other commissioners for a change.
