Funeral services were held March 12 for George E. Mooney, 66, of Lakewood. He passed away March 9 at the Laurelton Village Care Center in Brick. Mr. Mooney was an electrician by trade for most of his life and was the former owner of Lucky’s Bar on Mallory Avenue in Jersey City before retiring many years ago. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran during the Vietnam War from 1966-1968. Mr. Mooney was a communicant of St. Martha’s R.C. Church in Point Pleasant.
Born and raised in Jersey City, he lived in Bayonne and Brick before moving to Lakewood in 2010. Mr. Mooney was predeceased by his grandson Steven. Surviving are his wife Camille Mooney of Lakewood; son Mark Mooney and his wife Dianne Pasquale of Brick; daughter Donna Davis and her husband William of Brick; sister Linda Mooney of Bayonne; granddaughters Caisse Marie, Jaclynn and Samantha; grandson Peter; great-grandchildren Daniela and Bradley, all of Brick.
