Healy’s State of the City Address factual, honest and sincere

Dear Editor:
As a lifelong resident of Jersey City this writer was proud to attend the State of the City Address and listen to our Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy. The Mayor issued factual information and was honest and sincere in his presentation citing accomplishments, future ventures and yes stated that certain areas needed to be worked on for our residents. There is an old adage that it is extremely easy to be critical and accuse when you are not in the position dealing with the myriad of issues that confront the Mayor on a day to day basis. It is evident that until May we will be subject to the empty critical comments that have no solutions attached to them and are part of political rhetoric by the opposition.
The facts as presented by the Mayor cannot be disputed, the city has been lauded by the financial experts for fiscal soundness, new police officers and firefighters have been hired using federal grant funding, new projects have been taken off of the drawing board and started and our city can stand out tall and proud with the efforts of the administration during Hurricane Sandy. Equally as important is the true caring and feeling that Mayor Healy has and does show as a true Jersey Cityite.

We need Mayor Healy for the next four years to work for us, the 250,000 plus residents of our fair city.

Respectfully,
Robert B. Knapp
