Funeral services were held Feb. 19 for Charles Shanloogian of Brick Township. He passed away on Friday, Feb. 15. He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor (Boyajy) and survived by his son John Shenloogian and wife Roberta and his daughter, Lynn Shenloogian. Survived by a brother, Gregory Shenloogian, he is predeceased by Carnigs Shenloogian, Dr. Harry Shenloogian, Virginia Shenloogian and Nector Kalustian. He was a grandfather to Eric Shenloogian and wife Lauren, Dana Ingram and husband James, Scott Shenloogian, Kyle Field, Kevin Field and one great grandchild, Braelynn Little.
A veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II, he was awarded the Silver Star and three Purple Hearts. Returning home after the war, he would work in the embroidery business for more than thirty years. An active person, he was a member of the Union City VFW Post, AGAU Alumni Assoc, 10th Armored Veterans Assoc, 11th Cavalry Veterans Assoc, and the Men’s Club of Holy Cross Armenian Church. He would also spend 25 years with the kids of the North Bergen Little League. Services arranged by the Leber Funeral Home, Union City.
