Traffic causes middle finger flare-ups

Dear Editor:
The traffic pattern at Monroe and Newark Streets was revised to alleviate some of the congestion during the rush hours. As I am sure this was done with the best of intent it is flawed. The signage that was installed shows three lanes with the right lane turning right onto Newark Street, the middle lane turning left on Newark and then right on Grove and the left lane turning left on Newark Street. The problem is that the traffic pattern that is striped on the pavement has the two left lanes turning left on Newark Street and right on Grove. This creates constant confusion everyday where the two left lanes are both turning onto Grove Street. I would ask the Department of Public Works to please take a look at this as there are many a middle finger flying around the area during the rush hours.
