Keglers strike it up at bowling meet

The 29-member team representing the Bayonne Recreation Keglers Special Olympics Bowling Team turned in fabulous performances at the recently-held 2013 S.O.H.C. Area 1 Bowling Meet. The event was contested at the Hudson Lanes in Jersey City, and the results are as follows:
Seventh place: Barbara Mari.
Sixth place: Jody Czucza, Thomas Gutierrez, David Saylor.
Fifth place: Nicole Bawiec, Marcello Ciccone, Francheska Huentelaf, Jovanni Torres, Michael Walsh, Elizabeth Wentworth.
Fourth place: Samantha Ciemiecki, Violet Malcolm, Jude Orlando, Dina Tryon.
Third place: Maria Bruno, Kaitlyn Frey, Elaina Walsh.
Second place: Siearra Battle, Ronald Benitez, Lori Brett, Dennis Driscoll, Richmond McCurnin, Cheryl Olander, Marybeth Yurecko.
First place: Roger Belanger, Charles Cirillo, Ian Hudacko, Debbie Lesane, Marc Tonzola.
The Keglers were accompanied to the meet by their proud coaches John Valdora (meet director), Denise Bawiec, Theresa Diaz, and Thomas Moody. The coaches were assisted by Michelle Bawiec, Rose Marie Yurecko, Barbara Brett, Joyce Dandrea, Anita Nedswick, Savannah Valdora, Bayonne Police Officer Miguel Camacho, Bayonne Police Sergeant Michael Valdora, and Ruben, Lillian, Kira and Amber Concepcion.
The athletes who placed first, second and third have qualified to participate in the 2013 S.O.N.J. North Jersey Sectional Bowling Meet, scheduled for late February in Wallington, N.J.
