HUDSON COUNTY — Hurricane Sandy really did a number on Hudson County — 29,239, to be precise.
According to a press release from FEMA, the federal disaster relief agency has received that many applications from people and businesses in the county as of this week.
February 4 is the last day to apply for Disaster Unemployment for those individuals who lost their jobs due to Hurricane Sandy.
Saturday hours for New Jersey disaster recovery centers will change to 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 2. Monday through Friday the hours will remain 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
So far, the government has received 3,342 applications for disaster unemployment.
The local Regional Disaster Recovery Center is located at 830 Bergen Ave., 3rd Floor in Jersey City.
