Provident Bank’s Cryan Recognized as New Leader in Banking

Jamie Cryan of Hoboken, senior mortgage representative at Provident Bank, was recently selected by the New Jersey Bankers Association and New Jersey Banker magazine for the 2012 Class of New Leaders in Banking. He will be honored at the New Leaders Awards dinner on December 12 at the Tropicana Resort in Atlantic City.
The award recognizes up-and-coming professionals in the New Jersey banking industry under 40 years of age who have been outstanding leaders both at their respective banks and in their community.
As a senior mortgage representative at Provident, Cryan manages residential lending for 12 branches in Hudson County. He continues to be a top mortgage sales representative at the bank.
Through his community involvement, Cryan has helped coordinate the backpack program for the United Way of Hudson County, which distributes more than 21,000 bags filled with supplies for children in need.
Lending his financial expertise, Cryan is an active board member with Habitat for Humanity of Hudson County. He assists potential borrowers in the mortgage application process and provides potential partner families with financial literacy training and credit counseling. He has also participated in a financial literacy program with Junior Achievement of New Jersey through Provident where he served as “Principal for a Day” in Jersey City’s Franklin L. Williams Middle School.
In addition, Cryan was recently appointed as a full commissioner to the Hudson County Planning Board with his term expiring in 2014. He was also named the 2011 Hudson County Honorary Italian Man of the Year.
