JERSEY CITY AND BEYOND – After Henry W. Granderson of Jersey City made his first court appearance a week ago Monday on charges of an alleged two-year long assault on an 8-year-old female pupil, another student came forward.
According to Hudson County Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor Debra Simon, a 10-year-old student came forward on Thursday after the story became public.
Granderson was a violin teacher at 676 School of Violin and Fine Arts in Jersey City.
The original charges of aggravated sexual assault on the 8-year-old were allegedly in front of the girl’s 5-year-old sister and over a two-year period of time. Granderson was facing a $400,000 bail.
The most recent victim is said to have been a one-time touching molestation incident. Granderson was re-booked yesterday. A second additional bail has been set and the case will be presented to a Grand Jury, Simon said Tuesday.
Granderson also had a prior child abuse conviction back in 1999. Simon said that the former conviction is public knowledge.
