To the Editor:
I would like to commend Chief of Police Ralph Scianni, Public Safety Director Jason O’Donnell, and Mayor Mark Smith for the quick and decisive action they took to protect our children, teachers and administrators in our schools.
On Monday, Dec. 17, they had police officers placed in each school in Bayonne. Surely the placement of a police officer in each school is the first line of defense against any madman with a weapon bent on committing unspeakable horror against innocents. Let’s see how brave that person is when they come up against another person with a weapon. I think not so brave.
Our city leaders have truly lived up to the motto “Protect and Serve.” Congratulations!
