UPDATE: Freeholder crashes car into building in Jersey City; Reorganization meeting held

HUDSON COUNTY — Doreen DiDomenico, the Bayonne representative to the Hudson County freeholders, received minor injuries to her knees Thursday night after her car crashed into a building on Newark Avenue and JFK Boulevard in Jersey City while she was on her way to the freeholder reorganization meeting a few blocks away.
Newly elected Freeholder Chairman Anthony Romano said she had been taken to Jersey City Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries and released.
Officials said DiDomenico’s crash into the glass doors of the building came as a result of her steering the car to avoid hitting another vehicle.
At the Jan. 3 freeholder reorganization meeting, Romano (of Hoboken) was named chairman, West New York Freeholder Jose Munoz, vice chair, and North Bergen/Secaucus Freeholder Thomas Leggio, pro tem, posts that will set the agenda for the county’s legislative body for 2013.
