WEST NEW YORK — The West New York Zoning Board of Adjustment has called a special meeting on Thurs. Jan. 3 at 6:30 p.m. to hear an application for a proposed high-rise apartment building on the corner of Boulevard East and Monitor Place. The meeting will take place at the town’s municipal building. The proposed site is the only issue on the agenda, but residents have already issued a press release urging their neighbors to attend the meeting.
According to the release, issued through Concerned Citizens of West New York, the site’s developer would require that more than 12 variances be granted by the board in order to move forward with the project. The concerned citizens group has been highly involved in rallying support against another proposed Boulevard East high-rise, Meridia Le Boulevard. A vote will be held on that site at the board’s next regular meeting, which will be held on Jan. 24.
