Excessive winning & bellyaching

Dear Editor:
Oh boo hoo! I couldn’t believe the pathetic letter which recently appeared in this newspaper apparently written by the current mayor of Union City.
His excessive whining and bellyaching that anyone would have the unmitigated gall to criticize him made me and others wonder did he use taxpayer supplied crayons and construction paper to compose his angry response to this newspaper.
To be fair, I and other long time residents of our community could understand his apparent confusion. Thanks to the longtime bromance he has with the editor of the Jersey Journal he is apparently used to only fabulous and sensational comments about him appearing in our local newspapers.
No mention of course as to whatever happened to the former Union City employee whose only task was to chauffer him around at taxpayer expense.
This mystery reminds me of a character from the comics page Where’s Waldo.
On election Day I sincerely tried to initiate a conversation with the revenue and finance commissioner at the desperate need of our city officials to try and encourage employment opportunities in Union City among the private sector.
To sum up her anemic response she claimed that it wasn’t her responsibility to attempt to create badly needed jobs in private industry.
Such a lack of concern for our local economy.
Finally I would like to address our current mayor’s excitement of hosting commission meetings in various neighborhoods.
The time has long since passed that these folks would join the rest who are living in the 21st century and have these meetings videotaped . So for example that those of us who are forced to live with sleep apnea have something important to watch on cable at 4 a.m. so we can bear witness to how our local property tax money is being spent and on whom.
