Tenants of Back Bay Gardens say thanks

To the Editor:

The tenants of Back Bay Gardens, at 535 Avenue A, would like to thank everyone involved in feeding and protecting us during the aftermath of Sandy.
We would like to thank John Mahon, John Wilson and all the Bayonne Housing Authority employees who worked long hours making sure all the tenants were safe and had three hot meals a day served or sent to each and every apartment in all the buildings in their charge.
We would also like to thank Ana Quintela and all the staff of the BEOF and volunteers at their sites at 23rd and Fourth Streets, who cooked and served everyone in need, not only the tenants but anyone who walked in and needed a hot meal. They were serving more that 600 meals three times a day.
We would like to thank Tropicana for the orange juice they supplied us, United Way, the Red Cross for supplying meals for anyone that came too late, Mayor Mark Smith who had the Police Academy cadets distributing meals, the Police and Fire Departments and McCabe Ambulance Service. Thanks to the nurses who came to make sure everyone was okay and had their medications. I am sorry if I have missed anyone else that was there for us, you know who you are. Thanks again!
But most of all, we cannot thank Tyson Company enough for donating all the food and cooking us three meals a day for almost a week.
We want to give a great shout-out to the seven-year-old daughter of one of the women from the Tyson Company who drew pictures for us. We taped the pictures to the wall for all to see and everyone who saw them walked away with a smile.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
