Palisades Medical Center to honor Thomas Eastwick and Mohamed Lateef, MD

The 2012 Star Stream Ball will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Venetian in Garfield. Each year the formal black-tie dinner event unites hundreds of business leaders, public officials and local residents to support the work of Palisades Medical Center, the Harborage and rehabilitation center.
Thomas Eastwick, president of Eastwick College, the HoHoKus Schools, and Mohamed Lateef, MD will be honored with Star Stream Awards for their work in supporting the health and well being of local residents. The event will also have a special “Magic of the Season” theme featuring food, music, dancing, interactive entertainers along with lighting and decor. Proceeds from the event will support the expansion and renovation of the Pediatric Unit at Palisades Medical Center.
Eastwick is an innovator and visionary in the field of specialized education, according to a press release. His schools are recognized for a groundbreaking approach which has led to a growing list of industry accreditations and affiliations.
“Service and philanthropy are two important aspects of Tom’s life, characteristics he seeks to cultivate in his students,” said Bruce Markowitz, president and CEO of Palisades Medical Center. “Eastwick and HoHoKus School students participate in numerous charitable endeavors, with every dollar raised matched by the school. We are honored that Tom serves Palisades on both the PMC Foundation and Medical Center Board of Governors.”
Dr. Lateef has an extensive and distinguished career at Palisades Medical Center and has held a number of leadership positions, including Chairman of Emergency Services and Director of House Physicians.
“Dr. Lateef’s accomplishments and contributions have played an instrumental role in advancing patient care and clinical services at Palisades,” said Markowitz. “He has also helped lead our philanthropic efforts by actively serving on the PMC Foundation Board of Governors since 2008.”
