A funeral service was held Nov. 10 at St. Thomas Armenian Church, Tenafly, for John Z. Zakar, 88, of Bergenfield. He passed away Nov. 1. Born in West New York, he was a lithographer for Rae Publishing in Cedar Grove. A Navy veteran of WWII, he was a member and Past Master of Blue Stone Mystic Tie Malta Doric Lodge 35, Secaucus and a member of the Men’s Club of St. Thomas Armenian Church. Husband of Anna Zakar; father of Stephanie and her husband Michael Roberge, Donna Zakar and John and his wife Gidget Zakar; brother of Janet Pamboukian; grandfather of Marissa and Zachary Roberge and Jack Zakar.
