A funeral mass was held Oct. 17 at St. Aloysius Church for Clement A. Czachorowski, 95. He died Oct. 12 at Jersey City Medical Center. A lifelong Jersey City resident, the son of the late Romaldo and Edward Czachorowski, he was a custodial engineer for Jersey City Medical Center for 50 years, retiring in 1987. He was a decorated U. S. Army Veteran World War II. He received the EAME Service Medal, One Silver Star and the Meritorious Unit Award for the battles of Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Clem was proud to serve his country, as he was of those soldiers who are serving their country now. Locally, he was a former committeeman for Ward “B” and a former usher and member of the Holy Name Society at St. Aloysius Church. He was the husband of the late Helen (Gankiewicz); brother in law of Josephine Guszkowski; uncle of Edward, Dennis and the late Kenneth Guszkowski as well as many other nephews and nieces.
