A mass of Christian burial took place Sept. 25 at St. John the Baptist Church for Mary E. Fitzpatrick, 94. She passed away Sept. 21. Born in Brooklyn, Mary lived most of her life in Jersey City. She was employed as a bookkeeper, retiring after 40 years of service for both Topps Watch Band Co. in Jersey City and Miller Abbatior in North Bergen. Mary was a longtime communicant of St. John the Baptist Church and a member of St. John’s Rosary Society. She was an avid bowler at the Hudson, Roosevelt and Castle Bowling Lanes, was a member of the International Women’s Bowling Conference and attended the National Bowling Tours. Mary was predeceased by her husband John Fitzpatrick; mother of Mary Newsom (David), Geri Manuel, John J. Fitzpatrick (Theresa) and Michael J. Fitzpatrick (Lois); grandmother of Edward Gajdzis (Theresa), Valerie Reyher (Matthew), George Manuel (Sarai), Jessica Lynn Manuel, Theresa Diglio (Adam) and Thomas Fitzpatrick; also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
