Dear Editor:
Pier C Park is such a beautiful and tranquil place. I love going there with my 8 year old daughter. Unfortunately the last time we were there I had to explain some very graphic and/or pornographic graffiti that is written on the bleachers at the sand pit.
Also on this particular trip to the park I had to also explain to her what that “weird smelling smoke” (her words) was that was coming out of the cigarette that two people were sharing.
Is it possible that the city can try to protect it’s investment and have the police patrol this wonderful place? Maybe if someone was caught defacing the benches or equipment they can be sentenced to community service and could go back and sand down all the wood at the park. Crazy thought I know!!!
