Dear Editor:
What implication did the selection of Paul Ryan had in the state of New Jersey? It takes maturity and careful thinking when a person is being considered nomination for a higher position. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney for the last few months was flirting and was considering Marco Rubio-R–Florida- US Senator to be his vice president candidate. Personally I feel Mr. Rubio didn’t handle such consideration the proper way with the press and the media. Time after time, publicly the young Senator kept saying he didn’t want or was interested for such position at this time. In politics timing is everything when it comes to not to say the right thing and I feel Mr. Rubios comments shall had been that it was an honor that he was being considered for such an honorary position.
After thoroughly analyzing Mr. Romneys choice to have Mr. Ryan as his running mate, it is clear that this selection benefit US Senator Robert Menendez. Had Romney chosen a Latino candidate as his running mate, Menendez re-election would have been tightly contested.
In 2002 Union City held its local municipal election. In that election Mayor Brian P. Stack headed the successful slate. The moment that Mayor Stack announced his local running mates, Senator Stack publicly stated, I’m honor and elected to have these fine individuals running with me.” From the very beginning Mayor Stack brought unity to his slate and united this diverse community of Union City as one.
Respectfully,
Oscar Cordero
