A funeral mass took place Aug. 23 at St. Peter’s R.C. Church in Point Pleasant Beach for Mary Ann Wallace, 66, of Point Pleasant Beach. She passed away Aug. 19 at her home. She was born and raised in Jersey City and lived for over 27 years in Roselle Park before moving to Point Pleasant Beach a year ago. She was employed as an educator with the Jersey City Board of Education for over 39 years and served many years as the principal of Frank R. Conwell School No. 3 in Jersey City, retiring in 2007. She was a longtime parishioner, active volunteer, Eucharistic Minister, and lector at the Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park. She was also a parishioner, Eucharistic Minister, and lector at St. Peter’s R.C. Church in Point Pleasant Beach. She was a member of the NEA, NJEA, PSA, ASA, ASCD, and mentored incoming candidates for principal positions with the Foundation of Educational Organization. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Robert A. Wallace; a son, Robert V. and his wife, Jean of New City, NY; two daughters, Annemarie Hanley and her husband, Keith of Point Pleasant Beach and Megan B. Duffy and her husband, Kevin of Queens, NY; her godson, Andrew Wallace and his wife, Amy of Howell, NJ; a cousin, Brian Cooley of Point Pleasant Beach; two brothers, Michael and Vincent; a sister Rosemary Slider; seven grandchildren, Anna, Claire, Avery, Marianne, William, Kevin and Keith; and many other family members and friends.
