A mass of Christian burial was offered Aug. 13 at St. Francis R.C. Church for Eleanor Sommers, 94, of Hoboken. She passed away Aug. 10 at the Geraldine L. Thompson Care Center in Allenwood. A lifelong resident of Hoboken, Eleanor was a retired employee of the Lipton Tea Company. Mrs. Sommers will be missed by her daughters, Eleanor Withington, and Paula Ellis; her three grandchildren Denise Bernhard, Doreen Freeburg, and Michael Dietrich; and her great grandchildren, Christina, Brett, Peter, Colleen, Paul, Ryan, Michael, and Sean. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband John, her daughter Carolyn, her sister Helen Van denBroek, and her brother Edward Ross. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
