A funeral mass took place Aug. 7 at Immaculate Conception Church for George H. Baran, 94, of Little Egg Harbor, formerly of Jersey City. He passed away Aug. 2. He was the husband of Lena Baran, and they were married for 60 years; father of George Baran and his wife Barbara and Donna O’Connor and her husband John; grandfather of Donna Michel Guerreros, John A. O’Connor and Christina Baran. George was a graduate of Dickinson High School and served his country in the US Navy during World War II. George retired from the Jersey City Fire Department after 30 years of service. He was active with the Boy Scouts, a member of the Moose, VFW and the American Legion. Services arranged by the Mack Memorial Home, Secaucus.
