A memorial service was held July 6 at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Jersey City, for Charles W. Turner Jr. He passed away June 29. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Charles was a lifelong resident of Jersey City. He was predeceased by his parents LaRue Jones and Charles W. Turner Sr. and his son Nathaniel Turner. Charles is survived by his children: Tina, Charles III, Isaac (Jerrilove), Kelly, Dayna, Gustav, Quasim, Lucretia and Eddie; four sisters: Pastor Kathryn L. McKenzie, Delores (Renold) Altenor, Bertha Henderson and Minister Pamela (Jeffrey) McKinley. 7 Brothers: Freddie Jones, Lonnie D., Ronnie (Darlene), Henry and Alanzo Henderson, Pierre and Tyrone Moore; and also survived by 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends.
