Funeral services took place July 10 at St. John’s Baptist Church, Jersey City, for Hearther Lee Jenkins of Jersey City, 90. She passed away July 1. She worked for Empress Handbag Company in North Bergen. Hearther was a member of St. John’s Baptist Church in Jersey City for 38 years and sang in the church choir. She also was an Eastern Star. She was the wife of Otis Jenkins Sr.; mother of Willie F. Jenkins, Anthony G. Jenkins and the late Otis Jr., and Pearlie Mae Jenkins; grandmother of Shanetta, Jared, Bryson, Ebony and Sir AlTariq Jenkins; and great grandmother of 3; sister in law of Edna Bassette and the late Alice Smith; and also survived by a host of many other relatives and friends.
