To the Editor:
This is a response to Ms. Weingard:
Once in office, no politician would ever resign. Why would they? It’s one big country club. They don’t care what we say. They’ll keep raising our taxes as a “necessary burden,” and the burden will be on the people who pay their salaries. They love the power, the perks, and especially the taxpayers’ financial cash cow. They’re actors pretending to work for “we the people,” and they love their jobs. You can’t prod the cattle away from the trough. And when they do finally leave office, they’re millionaires. How does that happen?
But we have to remember that there was a majority of mindless voters in this city who elected these people, and we got the government we deserved. Maybe at the next election we can find some trustworthy candidates who will truly work for the people of Bayonne. Am I dreaming? Probably.
